Google Buys Motorola, Becomes a Hardware Company

Google posted on their official blog on Monday that they are acquiring Motorola Mobility for $12.5billion. Google will be buying Motorola's shares for $40 each in cash. Motorola has been facing a loss due to extremely high competition from other phone makers like Apple, Samsung, HTC, etc. for a few months. This may have tempted Google to take the advantage of and a great way of taking Android ahead.

Motorola Mobility has been a sincere Android partner but was losing its place from the market. So indeed a very clever move by Google. Larry Page says,

Motorola Mobility's total commitment to Android has created a natural fit for our two companies. Together, we will create amazing user experiences that supercharge the entire Android ecosystem for the benefit of consumers, partners and developers. I look forward to welcoming Motorolans to our family of Googlers.

So the deal allows Google to enter the Hardware market after being long known as a software company. The good side is Android will be best integrated with Motorola's, now Google's devices.

Other Android partners have been welcoming this deal saying it will only help Android to be better. Larry Page said that the Anti-Competitive moves from Apple and Microsoft made them to come to the decision to acquire Motorola Monility.

So let's get ready for some cool devices from the Googlers.
